Police Officer Kevin Lee Memorial Scholarship

I am pleased to annouce the Society will be giving out 1 ($500) scholarship per semester for uniformed members enrolled in any undergraduate or graduate studies. Free classes such as John Jay are not eligible for Scholarship. Please download the attached scholarship application and forward it to our PO Box by no later than Dec. 31, 2009. Application will also be accepted at the next week's Meeting. Police Officer Kevin Lee died Friday night, January 27, 2006 following a struggle with a robbery suspect on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Officer Kevin Lee, 31, collapsed at East 86th Street and Lexington Avenue as he and his partners were trying to collar three men who had allegedly stolen a laptop computer from an Upper East Side store. Lee was rushed to Lenox Hospital, where doctors worked for more than an hour to save his life. He died at about 7:30 p.m.
